IMO the o-ring is a false sense of security. It bites into the top layer of head gasket, but the lower part at the block is not ringed and left to be stock. Although it adds some clamping force to the top side the bottom then becomes vulnerable in a sense. I will also say that "saving money" and a 6.0/6.4 HG job DO NOT go together.

2032 posts · Joined 2009. #4 · Nov 7, 2013. I had the whole 9 yards done to my 6.0 back in July. The shop I used recommended o-ringing the heads to go with OEM gaskets and ARPs. Heads were also fully checked by the machine shop at the same time. I don't plan to run high boost but thought for an extra $250 why not.

Received 1 Like on 1 Post. Hitting 600 HP in a 6.0 takes a decent amount of work. Most guys are only pushing about 550. If you're going to use it as a toy at 600 HP fine, but trying to make a good daily driver out of that truck is gonna be hard. Generally your lag time and fuel mileage is enough to not want to do it.
